It's that time! It's so easy to do and really doesn't take that much time. Make your own special Valentines! They are so sweet and made with love! These Valentines I made with cut out card stock circles. I dipped them in left over coffee from the morning pot and baked them for a few minutes at 350 degrees. I then cut out random circles of Valentine style papers{It can be pink and red with whatever images that could be romantic}. I folded the edges in a bit and glued a small dot on the back of the cicles and put them together. I used a pink seam binding for the ribbon but any style ribbon or string will do. These are darling and voila! I hoped I inspired you to get out your papers and make your own! It's not too late!

Ahhhh.. the color pink. My favorite. Pink symbolizes love,beauty, kindness and compasion. It heals grief and sadness,soothes difficulties in both romantic and family relationships. It gives selfworth, love and acceptance. It means I care. Not just for Valentine's Day but for everyday. So spread the pink and make yourself feel good. I purchased these pink hydrangas yesterday. They are so pretty. I placed them in my front foyer for everyone to see.{well anyone who walks in my foyer}.They make me feel good every time I walk by them!

Easy Sunny Side up idea.....

I've always wanted to make one of these pizzas and last night I did!.I bought a fresh cheese pizza at the local grocery store. I bought a bag of spinach and layered the top of the pizza. While the pizza baked, I cooked the eggs. When the pizza was done, I took the eggs out of the pan and topped the pizza! Voila there you have a Florentine Pizza! Easy and tasty! Happy Monday!

Meet Betsy....

I've been on a hunt for a mannequin to display all my jewelry wares for a long time. My homemade one was falling apart and just wasn't working for me anymore. I've had my eyes especially on vintage ones. I just love the beauty and charm of them even if to just display in the home. Last week I did find a beauty, it had the wire skirt a beige bodice and a dark green chest with an iron knob at the top. She was beautiful! I just wasn't sure if my jewelry would show up in photos because of the green color. Then I found this one. It's brand new and has a wooden leg. It's very plain except for the French print at the bottom. I bought a pretty vintage millinery flower and wide antique lace to dress her up when she needs it. I love the nuetral effect it has on the jewelry! I take my photos always outside to get the most light. Last night I left her on the porch and my daughter let me know it was starting to rain...so I quickly brought her in because I didn't want Betsy to be wetsy! Ha! Anyways, I just want to indroduce her to you because you will be seeing a lot of her in my jewelry photos!

I started baking again...

I got the creative urge to make some gift tags . It's one of my favorite things to do. I coffee stained the tags first and baked them. Once again my poor kids came running down the stairs asking what I was baking and I had to tell them paper! It does kinda smell like coffee cake though. Ha! Anyhoo..I then decorated them like so. I plan to give them away as gifts and as extra goodies for customers. They are fun and unique! I have a lot of respect for those who make and sell gift tags. A lot of time and thought goes into them and to me they are extra special! I'm planning on actually baking something real to eat for tomorrow...Ha! Stay tuned!

Bird on a wire.....

there way in the porch this morning and here is one of them perched on a strand of lights.. I don't know how they get in sometimes but they do. It was like having a big open air bird cage {like in a zoo} looking out from my kitchen windows. Birds were flying evrywhere! Anyways, I thought this photo came out so "tweet".

I've been away a bit. Taking advantage of the lazy,hazy ,hot and sticky and pretty much relaxing Summer days! I hope you all are too! We just received the back to school list in the mail today. Hard to believe it's already around the corner. Every Summer seems to breeze on by a bit faster as my children get older.

Too cute for words! My family went on a picnic on Memorial day

and my youngest decided to explore the tree and walked right into this baby bird.

We all got up to see and the sweet baby bird just sitting on the branch. I think it just flew from the

nest and landed there and didn't want to move. We then took a few pictures because we have never been that close to one before. We left it because we heard mama bird and then watched her feed baby "Philip". My daughter named it. It was just too cute and thought to share these photos!

A vintage glider for my porch! I'm so excited! I've been on the hunt for one for a little while and found it today. It's aluminum and has the original cushions which are in fabulous shape. It glides fairly well, I need to put a little WD40 on it to make really glide good but it's great exercise anyways! Ha! I'm sprucing up my porch for Summer and thought I would share my new purchase. My kids get out of school next week so it should get a lot of use. Have a great day!

Tiny moments captured on film that is so sweet and innocent. Natures gift that brings a smile to our faces young and old. A gift that keeps on giving. My fondest memories from when I was young was picking flowers from someone else's garden or in our own yard and bringing them home to my mom to make her happy. Flowers just do that to us. They make us feel good. Just like this sweet little neighbor of mine picking flowers for her mom. Simply priceless!

The name Ranunculus is Late Latin for "little frog," from rana "frog" and a diminutive ending. This probably refers to many species being found near water, like frogs. Yes...I looked up the definition! Funny name I think but I think they are my most favorite! I bought them at Trader Joe's on Friday and had to have a little photo shoot. I just love em! Going stir crazy

I have not left the house since Saturday. Well I took some photos from the porch and walked the dog in the yard but that's it! I stocked up on groceries knowing this storm was coming but we just ran out of bread and we are craving a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup! Mmm Mmm Good! So my sweet son is going to trudge in the snow and walk 2 miles and back to get a loaf of bread. It's amazing what a craving will do! At least the sun is shining but it's still below freezing out. Hopefully by the weekend I can drive my car. Wishing you all a happy day!

Snow in ATL!!

I'm sure everyone knows by now how we got dumped on. An arctic winter blast came through and our city is pretty much closed. Growing up in upstate N.Y this is funny. Although without the snow tires and all the plows and salt tucks to make everything easier to live in the winter I see why we are in a state of emergency! Anyways the kids are having the time of their lives and it is so pretty! This photo is of my decorative bike in my front yard. Having fun drinking hot cocoa and listening to the kids all around screaming as they slide down the hills! I hope everyone is staying warm wherever you are!

Last night I tossed and turned. I could not fall asleep. I was watching T.V before I went to bed and it stuck in my head this show I watched on celebrities and plastic surgery. I guess the secret to Heather Locklear's youthful look is laying on her back and soft sheets! Wow! I thought to myself..I shall try laying on my back at night. Lol! This must be the reason all these fine lines are showing up on my face. My sheets are just not soft enough! Anyways... I could not fall asleep on my back and how do you know when your sleeping that you don't turn to your side? Hmm? I guess this trick works only for certain people. Ha! Our little Advent calendar has today's date that has not been opened yet. Scrumptious little chocolates hiding inside the little door. Such a sweet tradition! It's been awhile since I last posted.

A couple weeks ago my daughter's appendix ruptured. She is doing well and pretty much back to normal but it was scary time! Life brings on things when you least expect them that is for sure!

I also am proud to say I ran my first half marathon on Thanksgiving morning!! It was fun but very hard! I ran with a friend and we didn't stop. We both said we would never do it again but now that it's been a few weeks we talk about next year possibly doing it again. Lol! Crazy is all I can say! Anyways I just wanted to check in and say hello!

A trip to Burt's Farm

It was a festive and beautiful Fall day yesterday. We took a family trip to Burt's Farm in north Georgia. Famous for their Pumpkins. It was so much fun. There was a cool breeze and you could smell the fried apple pies in the air and yes... I bought quite a few! We did get one of those wart pumpkins which we thought were funny and pretty cool. Also a huge one that is sitting in our yard. Looks like I grew it overnight! Lol! Anyways just sharing some fall moments from North Georgia! Enjoy your day!

Oh my! I's been just about 2 months since I last bloggged! I've been a very bad blogger. I'm so sorry. I appreciate all of you comments and well wishes. Everything is good! I've just been really busy with life. I'm really going to try to keep updating so please do keep stopping by to see what's new! I'm pleased to say my Etsy shop is doing well! Thrilled I must say! The editor of the magazine Jewelry Affaire contacted me awhile ago to send in some of my jewelry to possibly be in their Fall issue. So I did and they liked it! I'm in the October issue! I'm so excited to be published in a magazine!! I'm asking all my family and friends to pick up a copy and place it on their coffee tables! Lol! Anyways,just thought I would share that with you. It will be sold at Michaels and Borders as far as I know. As soon as it's out I'm sure I will show you all!

Fall is slowly but surely upon us! My favorite time of year! I've been creating these whimsy owl necklaces that are a definite statement for the Fall! Enjoy!

Hot Summer days are upon us here! I've been really behind on my posting. So sorry. It's just these lazy Summer days where I'm finding it hard to be inspired. Dinner is really hard! I can't figure out what to cook because it's so hot and I really don't feel like cooking and my family ends up eating something not too healthy. Ugh! I'm inspired today though and I wanted to show you all some new rings I have created. I call them French Artsy Rings. They are really fun and look really nice on the finger too! So this is a good thing. My next step is making my family a home cooked meal this evening! Wishing you all a lovely day!

Some images I captured of buzzing bees on my lavender. My lavender actually looks good! It came back and is thriving! Some of the plants have parts that are dead though and I'm not sure what to do about it. Do I cut the bad part out? I'm so afraid the whole plant will actually die. I know I need to cut the stalks back after they have bloomed but if you know what to do about the bad dead let me know. My new puppy Stanley just loves going to these plants and watching all of the bees on it! Oh what fun! Have a fabulous weekend!

Wow...It's been awhile since my last blog! So sorry I haven't been around. I've been really busy with our new puppy and all the end of the school activities with the kids. Summer is here at our house!{not officially but with the kids out of school} it is to me. So....Stanley is 9 weeks old. We got him 2 weeks ago for a surprise for one of my daughter's birthday. It's the family dog but a surprise it was because she was out of town when we got him. He's super sweet! He is an English Springer Spaniel. My neighbors got one a few months ago and I fell in love with dog. Anyways, here he is! I'm a little sleep deprived but not too much. It's summer so I'll catch up...and The kids will help me. Ha! Not as much as I thought. At least not the night time potty time. It's just me and Stanley! What do you think of his name? We went through so many and came up with this one. We think he looks like a Stanley. Well,just checking in and letting you all know I've just been busy. I'm off to check and see everyone. Happy Memorial Weekend!

Dancing among the ivy

You see that lovely shade of light green.. it's poison ivy! It's creeping and dancing all around my English ivy which has taken over our backyard. It is a pretty sight this sea of ivy but not too pretty for the skin! Lol! My daughter had a case of it when we first moved in this house and it was not fun. Oh what lovely things Spring brings! We have wood bees too that love to make holes on my porch. They are really hard to get rid of. They do inspire me though. I made a cuff that is perfect for the bee/insect lover..............

Also..ther are lots of caterpillars in my yard which will soon be turning into lovely butterflies which I was inspired to make this cuff for the Butterfly lover too.....

Just thought I would share some of my inspirations today! Remember to stay clear of the light green leaves with 5 leaves on each stem! A tip for the day!

Shades of pink

It was a beautiful day yesterday. Sunny, clear blue sky and a little breeze. The pollen here has been unbelievable! The light green powder is everywhere! Luckily I don't have an allergy problem because I really feel sorry for those that do. Ugh! But with that pollen comes spectacular shows from the flowers! I captured some flowers in shades of pink and wanted to share these lovlies. My neighbor has this tree with the pink flowers in the top photo. I don't know what the name of this tree is....they look like carnations all clustered on the branches.

These are my azalea bushes that are in my front and back yards. Oh so pretty! Just thought I would share and wish you all a Happy Monday!

This picture is of my Baby's Breath Bush and my shabby little blue garden house stick. The Bush is in full bloom now ! It is so pretty! This weather sure does change your mood! At least it does mine! A diet rich with Antioxidants will help fight cancer,heart disease and even signs of aging. Lately, I've been on a health kick. I guess because it's swimsuit weather around the corner and this is what I do. I've been trying to eat better and excercise daily. I'm noticing positive results! Why oh why can't I keep this eat right track on all the time? It is definately a life style choice and it is an important one! It's getting yourself started and once you get over the hump of the first week, I think it it becomes a habit to try to eat right. Just like it says on the Wasa Cracker box " Eat Well Live Better"! My first bridal collection

I'm so excited to introduce my first bridal collection! I was asked by a customer who loved my new cuffs to make them for her Bridesmaids and Made of Honor. She told me her colors were eggplant and ivory. The design was totally up to me and I had fun! I just love making these cuffs! She's also giving them a set of earrings that match the vintage purple jewel on the cuff. I made the Maid of Honor's cuff with a little more pizazz! I'm so pleased that the customer loves them too! I just had to share my collection with you because they are shipping off to the bride now. Hopefully, I will have more requests in the future! I think they are a unique and fabulous gift to receive. Oh my! It's been awhile since I've last blogged! Nothing too exciting going on I guess. Except for this snowfall that is accumulating on the ground! My kids went off to school this morning and now they are sending them all home 2 hours early! Wow! It still boggles my mind because it's only a couple of inches if that! I grew up in upstate N.Y {Snowbelt capital of the world}! I would trudge to school in my snow suit and moon boots in many ft. of snow! Funny to think of that now! I know GA. is not used to this kind of weather so this what always happens. The kids will love it and it is pretty ,but I'm ready for Spring!!! How about you? Bring on the pollen! Ha! Yes, I think I would take pollen over the snow. Well..I just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still here!

Oh..The beauty of the bust...

This bust is such an inspiration to me! I bought her a couple of years ago to put in my studio. She's painted and decorated with painted tin flowers. I really can't use her for my displays because she is a bit busy but she is a beauty! I haven't named her yet...hmm? Then there is my home made bust that I use for my diplays...She is starting to come a part a bit and tear but I love her anyways. I created her when I first started making necklaces and that was about 2 1/2 years ago. I see so many that I love and are beautiful dressed up or down.

We had a scare last Wednesday night. My husband had a small heart attack. It happened out of the blue. No warnings or past history. He's doing well now. He's back to work. All the tests taken showed no blockages. It is definately a life changing moment, A real eye opener about life! We were lucky and given another chance! I love the above quote. I have a passion for old glass bottles! I just love them...all kinds ! I used to be hooked on the blue bottles and I would collect them ,but then I got over the blue and went on to green and clear. They are just so interesting and give alot of charm when grouped together. I can't wait to start the yard sales in the Spring! I'm actually trying to de-clutter..that was my New Year's resolution...but my thought is get rid of the old and bring in some new old stuff. Ha! It's a pretty day today. I loved them at first sight! Pink, a bit wilted, perfectly shabby! So I bought them for myself! Yes...I do tend to buy myself flowers all the time. I love fresh flowers around the house to brighten my day. Hubby occasionally brings them home...but in between I need to fill my flower addiction! One time a friend of mine saw me in the store with some in my cart and asked what are they for? I told her..for me of course! Lol! She replied that she never buys flowers. I thought how sad!Actually now that I'm thinking about it I should go buy her some! Everyone needs to have fresh flowers around once in awhile. Anyways ,I thought I would share my bouquet with you. On my mind lately

It's amazing to me to think my son will be behind the wheel in a couple of months. Such a scarry thought actually on my mind. I myself don't like to drive if I don't have to ,so the thought of teaching my son is boggling. I know my husband will be doing most of it and he'll take classes but... Oh my! So lately all the talk about is which car he would like. It ranges from an old Ford pick up trucks to a Jeep wrangler to a mustang. Lol! We shall see! Anyways ,it's definately a time in my life where I have to start to let go and this is hard! We all did it and are or will be going through, it but I'm not looking forward to it. I have to do this three times. Then I'll have five vehicles in my driveway...imagine that!I guess I'll be aging very quickly soon! Just thought I would share what's been on my mind. It's a dark and dreary, rainy day. So it looks like a day to clean inside and to do the laundry. Fun! Fun! Fun! We tend to hang dry alot of our clothing. I have those metal rollers to hang our clothes on hangers and the folding laundry thingy to dry other garments. They will be air dried in the house though...no fresh outside smell today. I love that fresh clean smell when you air dry the sheets! I have not done that in a long time. We do have a covered porch where I could hang a long rope to dry them too. How about you? Are the days of hang drying laundry gone? Of course I'm sure not for my in the country {or on the farms!} I remember the metal poles in my back yard when I was a kid with the laundry line. I remember them well because I used to climb and hang on them like monkey bars! Anyways,wishing you all a lovely day laundry day or not!

Tempting your tummies with these fresh baked,warm ,chocolate croissants! I can't say enough about these. I've blogged about them before,but they are just perfect! My secret is Trader Joes! They come frozen and you need to let them rise overnight. They become puffy in the morning. You brush them with egg and bake... Voila! Here's the finished product! C'est bon! Already 1 year in blog land!

I am really amazed at how time flies by the older I get. This past year seems to have passed by right before my eyes. I had a fantastic year with lots of new beginnings and creations. This blog is something I never would have thought I would do, but here it is 1 year old today! I love all the inspiration I get from all of you who have become my friends through this blog and from my Etsy shop! It's another life I have inside my computer! I want to thank all of you who come to visit. I enjoy every comment and I'm excited every time I get one! I hope you enjoy my posts and keep coming back to visit me because I plan on having another inspiring year here in blog land! I would like to give away a pair of earrings that I have been making for my shop that I love and hope that you do too!! Little gingerbread house

My daughter took pride making this year's gingerbread house! She spent a long time putting all the cobblestone(jellybean) siding on the house and the details all around. Her siblings enjoyed watching her and eating all of her supplies! Lol! Every year we make these houses and display them for everyone to see!They are so much fun and bring visions of sugar plums dancing through the holiday! It's definately a great family project! Even if it's just watching one making it, while the others are eating all the goods! Wishing you all a sweet day!

I captured this cute photo of a squirrel just a moment ago! I was watching him gathering nuts and things out of my gutter and then he hopped in the tree. I tried to get a close up of him or her with it's chubby mouth full but I couldn't get one. It did pose for me on the branch though. Lol! It's really nippy out today. It's about 33 degrees out. Sunday Pot Roast

Nothing like a pot roast on a winter Sunday! I got my slow cooker out this morning and added my broth to it,browned my roast and it's slowly simmering in the pot now! It's such cozy,comfort meal that the whole family loves. I make my famous mashed potatoes to go with it too! Yum! The house smells wonderful already and it will last through out the day! Wishing you all a lovely Sunday and maybe I have inspired you to get yourself a roast. It's still early to get it started! I love this photo. Our Christmas tree

Every year after Thanksgiving we get all our Christmas decorations out and start putting them up on that weekend. I thought I would take a picture of before and after this year. Our tree is an artificial tree that I love. Many years I've had a real one and spent oodles of money on them. Then one year I found this tree at Ballards. It was clearanced and had the lights on it with pinecones tucked in it too! It looked real to me. Anyways ,I bought it and this is our tree. I also add colored lights because the kids love them and I do too. I think it adds more charm with all the colors. Our tree is made up of everything! There are many vintage glass bulbs and new bulbs,the kids baby ornaments and others they have made or have gotten through the years. I add gold wired mesh as the garland,glittered branches poke out and tinsel is the final touch.We all love the final outcome. It's like looking at a candy shop with all the colors!

I thought I would share with you the incredible chocolate mousse cake we had over the weekend for my husband's b-day! If you are a chocolate lover you would have been in heaven! I wanted o show you this pretty cake with little specks of gold leafing on it. My son thought it was spray painted tinfoil. All my kids had to eat the gold!

A scary bees nest....

As I was looking out my window the other day I noticed this dangling thing in the tree. I said to myself" Oh My Gosh" Look at that! This nest is in our yard and it's been hidden by the leaves. Now that the leaves are gone there it was. So I took my camera and took some shots of it. As I zoomed in I could see the bees flying in and out of that hole. Wow! I told my kids to stay far away from that! I can only imagine if that falls or something...the amount of bees!!!!!!!!!Anyways a bit of nature I'm sharing with you! Have great day!
